Sales/Application Engineer:
ImageXpert manufactures equipment used in the rapidly evolving fields of ink jet printing and dispensing for the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, printed electronics, solar and 3-D printing industries.
We are looking for a versatile professional to install our highly sophisticated electro-optical instrumentation at customer sites all over the world. Each site involves a different application, and technology, so the successful candidate must be able to understand the customer's individual requirements, and adapt our instrumentation to the customer's specific needs.
You will need to think on your feet, think logically, and creatively, and have a high degree of confidence in your problem solving ability. You will also be training users in the use of the equipment you install and guiding them through the start up process. Our end users are often highly skilled technical professionals. To be successful you will need a strong background in imaging science, physics, mechanical engineering and/or electrical engineering. The successful candidate will receive extensive training in the use of our equipment and proprietary software and then be expected to develop creative solutions to unique applications.
Because of the highly technical nature of our product, and the widely varied applications, the application engineering and sales engineering effort significantly overlap. In addition to installation of the equipment, you will be the company ambassador to our customers. We need a good listener who can understand the customer's needs—current and future, and provide input on new product ideas to meet the customer's needs.
This position includes technical sales at trade shows both in the US and Europe. You will be asked to present technical and marketing papers at trade shows and conferences. You will demo our equipment at our corporate offices, and at customer sites accommodating the demonstration to varying customer parameters.
You will also provide technical training one-on-one and in small groups at customer sites and at the ImageXpert facility
The sales effort will also include evaluation of customers samples which involves setting up optical systems, using proprietary imaging software, understanding of lighting and optics and preparing a report for the customer.
In addition, you will be involved in the testing of new, modified, and existing electro-optical systems before release to the customer.
You will have the opportunity to provide input on the design of our next generation products.
Up to 30% travel in US and Europe is likely.

Background and Skills Required:
- B.S. degree in Imaging Science, Physics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with strong emphasis on analytics.
- 3 to 5 years experience in engineering design and customer support (especially with mechanical and/or electro-optical systems)
- Experience with industrial ink jet systems, jetting and dispensing in the biopharmaceutical industry, a plus.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English required.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
