Introducing the first gloss-mottle-measurement system on the market. Our gloss-mottle-measurement system uses cutting-edge technology to capture and analyze the variation in specular images of printed and unprinted surfaces.
Gloss variations across a surface can be both macroscopic and microscopic. Uneven gloss can have a negative impact on the perception of print and product quality.
The measurement system uses a linear fiber optic array light source, a line scan camera and powerful ImageXpert software to capture and analyze images in seconds. Since different applications require different geometries, the camera and light source can be adjusted to different angles relative to the sample.
Some of the gloss-variation measurements that are possible to perform using this system include: gloss mottle (blotchiness), differential gloss and gloss artifacts such as spots and streaks. This new system addresses a hot topic in the marking media and paper markets.
